Bone Densitometry is a non-invasive scan that looks at how dense your bones are in the lower back and the hip to see if you have osteoporosis (weak bones).
The radiographer will call you in, confirm your name and may require you to change into a gown. You will then lie on a bed and the scan will be performed. This scan should take no more than 15 minutes.
Bone Densitometry results are generated after the study, reported on by the radiologist and forwarded to your GP or requesting doctor the same day.
